Perched between two heritage buildings in bustling Fortitude Valley, Brookes Street House exists in a class of its own. Impeccably designed by James Russell, the iconic residence received an award-winning restoration by Hogg & Lamb with custom joinery crafted by Ferrier Furniture.
The Ferrier team delivered benches, cabinetry and a pantry for the kitchen, and a bed and walk-in robe for the master bedroom. With the utmost attention paid to original details and materials, our task was to ensure seamless integration with the existing architecture.

The team’s craftsmanship extended to the heart of Brookes Street House — the kitchen. Working with Spotted Gum, we created custom cabinetry and two bespoke island benches that feature the striking timber slats echoed throughout the home.
Topped with sleek white marble surfaces, the benches embody modern refinement while paying homage to the residence's design heritage. Our use of natural materials complemented a culinary space that continues to reflect the architect’s original subtropical vision.
